In This Webinar
In this recorded webinar from October 17, 2013, the author provides highlights of the SSDM Volume 1 including code changes of interest, how design incorporating code changes is illustrated in the SSDMs, and an overview of new content included in the 2012 SSDM series. The content of Volume 1 includes:
Determination of seismic irregularities, combinations of structural systems
Determination of drift, support of discontinuous systems
Analysis of seismic forces applied to equipment, non-structural elements and non-building structures
ASCE 7 equations applied to examples
Code and standard references for each example
The webinar runs for about an hour including a question and answer period at the end.

About the Webinar Series
With the New Year, January 1, 2014, California will be enforcing new building codes, and SEAOC has been busy preparing tools to help members transition to these new codes. Updating of the Structural/Seismic Design Manuals (SSDMs) to the 2012 IBC has just been completed, including expanded example problem coverage. SEAOC will be presenting a series of five webinars, addressing each of the five SSDM volumes. Register for the full 5-webinar package here.
