Job Qualifications
The Junior Structural Engineer should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or equivalent, and some experience from the structural engineering field with a focus on steel design is preferred. The Jr. Structural Engineer must possess excellent mathematical skills and have experience with computer aided design, drafting and detailing tools. AutoCAD experience is required and MBS experience is desired, as is experience from both hand and finite element analysis. The person must be authorized to work in the United States without any restrictions.

Short Description:
Civil/Structural Engineer to determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects and other failures.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Duties involve the investigation and analysis of residential (emphasis), commercial, and industrial properties for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes. Assignments may include foundation settlement investigations, structural assessments, site evaluations, sub-surface investigations and vibration analysis. Prepare oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation. Provide opinions and expert testimony. Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions, oversee field-testing, review construction documents, and participate in meetings with other building professionals/attorneys/adjustor/clients.
Skills/ Requirements:
Must posses strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations to clients for the purposes of both litigation support and marketing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to perform inspections in confined spaces. Must have good writing skills.
Education Requirements:
BS Civil Engineer. 15 years + experience in Civil/Structural Engineering, PE license in California is a must. SE license preferred.
Salary / Wages:
Starting at $90,000 depending on experience.
